Conniving his way into gaining favor with the Emperor, the Chamberlain of the Skeksis enjoyed certain privileges. When his position was threatened, skekSil was able to weave a web of lies to entrap his castle rivals. After rebel Gelfling Rian escapes the Castle of the Crystal, the Emperor rejects the Chamberlain's council. Forcibly removing skekSil, the Emporer replaces him with the General skekVar. While skekSil cannot bear the humiliation, he chooses to plant the seeds of satisfying revenge.
